With the changes to how Microsoft has implemented 2FA multi-factor authentication, this will affect how SMTP or Automatic Notifications setup work in RFMS Core
Instead of using your email password in the SMTP/Automatic Notifications setup, you will need to use an app password generated by your Microsoft account
To setup an app password, please visit the Microsoft support site below:
How to get and use app passwords - Microsoft Support
Once the app password is setup:
For Email Setup:
- Go to RFMS
- Go to Order Entry
- Click Utilities
- Click Setup
- Click Email Setup
- Under the SMTP Server Information and SMTP Authentication - change them both to the app password created earlier
- Click OK/Save
- Then go back into Email Setup to test sending an email to see if it is working.
For Automatic Notifications:
- Go to RFMS
- Go to Order Entry
- Click Utilities
- Click System Options (may require a Level 1 password)
- Click No Reply Email Configuration
- And just like the above, change the passwords for both the SMTP Server Information and SMTP Authentication
- Click OK/Save
- And go back to the No Reply Email Configuration to test.
