Scenario: Client is wanting to make Address #1 field in Customer Information a compulsory entry field when creating a new customer file.
You need to enter 'Interface Mode' which is a very simple process.
Go to Order Entry > File > Customers. Click on
Here is the typical blank record (see below) The pink highlighted box 'Last Name' shows that this is the only compulsory entry box required to create a new customer entry: (but we want to make Address #1 compulsory also)
To enter Interface Mode: on your keyboard press Alt Ctrl F9
A box will appear on your screen and you will have the option to set the compulsory fields for the following options:
1. Specific Users or
2. Globally (all users)
In this example I selected: Set Interface Behaviors for Users (as I wanted to choose specific users to make this compulsory on)
Then click with your mouse on the field you want to make compulsory (I did Address #1)
Then press on your keyboard: Alt Ctrl F
You have a few options to consider.
I selected 'Always Require' to make this field compulsory, but you have options to only 'Warn' but not compulsory etc.
Once you have selected your preferred choice click Apply Required Data Behavior for Field:
You then have the option to select what Users in RFMS to have this rule applied to:
1. Current - which applied only to the computer login user you are on
2. Multiple - you can then go and tag all the RFMS users to have this rule apply to.
Then click EXIT
You will then notice that the Interface Active Fields are how darker green colour which shows they have an Interface Rule:
IMPORTANT: You need to finally click on the 'EXIT INTERFACE MODE button:
Now when a new Customer Record is created there will be 2 pink highlighted boxes showing compulsory fields:
